Journal Square CSA Organizers
Katie Sheehan started Journal Square CSA 8 years ago. After she moved, Caroline McAuliffe, a new 2014 member, stepped up to keep it going. She has started this season off, but need your help to continue! If you are interested in joining the core members group, please contact us!
Caroline McAuliffe
Caroline is passionate about ensuring Jersey City has access to fresh, local food. She is a long time Journal Square resident and appreciative of meeting Katie Sheehan and the community at Hudson Pride Connections Center during the 2014 season. She was happy to help keep Katie's efforts going. Caroline is an arts educator at the Blue School in Manhattan and founder of goldpennyloafer, a thoughtfully made food company that creates meals free of dairy, gluten, soy, and processed sugars. She provides meal drop off services to local Jersey City residents. She is interested in bringing fresh produce and healthful ideas about food to the Jersey City community through workshops. In her spare time, she enjoys making art, learning how to bike the streets of Jersey City, and making pickles.
Founder, Katie Sheehan
Katie founded the Journal Square CSA in 2011 after getting to know Farmer Sergio Nolasco at the Jackson Heights Greenmarket. She formerly worked at the United Way of New York City, helping bring fresh local produce to needy families through the food pantry network.
